Features
Milk cow lameness is second only to mastitis regarding its decisive effect on
productivity, fertility and weight loss. These factors, together with the increased
vulnerability to other illnesses, cause a sickness state in the animal and the consequent rise of veterinary expenses.
Literature data demonstrate that cattle treatment with formaldehyde-based podalic
baths enables a significative decrease in the frequency of heel erosion. Moreover,
hardener properties of formaldehyde allow to prevent microbial contamination of the hoof.
